Course Description

Looking to be more expressive with your clay forms? Coil building is a versatile and engaging pottery technique, perfect for creating intricate, organic, and nontraditional shapes. By layering and sculpting coils, you can explore dynamic forms and push the boundaries of traditional pottery to craft truly unique, artful pieces. Whether you're aiming for refined detail or bold, creative shapes, coiling offers endless possibilities for artistic expression. Whether you're new to pottery or a seasoned potter, this class offers a fun and inspiring experience that promotes creativity and self-expression. Creative Coiling classes are two hours long with open studio time to practice included, at an affordable price of $49 per week. With a class size limited to 8, you’ll get plenty of personalized guidance. Join us and experience the joy of creating beautiful, handbuilt ceramic pieces! Included: - Open studio time to practice throwing on your own each week. Please see the Student Practice page on the website for current practice hours. - 25 pounds of clay (including firing and glazing). - Basic tools for your use during class. (Bring a towel and apron if you like.) (There are no make up classes for this course. If you need to miss a class, speak with your instructor about what you will miss. Try to get extra studio practice that week, and follow any guidelines for learning what you will miss that your instructor may have for you.)
